What exactly does PeopleHavePower use my personal information for?

Email: We need your email address so you can use it to login; so we can send you your password if you forget it; and so we can keep in touch with you about PeopleHavePower happenings with occasional updates about the site.

First and Last Name: We need your name so we know who to address you as (if ever necessary). This information will not be exposed to other users, it will live safely in your account information. Other users only see your “Screen Name”.

Address: This will help us make sure that you are seeing the most relevant content about your local government, and it helps us survey opinions by geographic location.

Birthdate: This lets us break down opinions by age group. This is never displayed to other users, so don’t worry about us blowing your secret.

Gender and Political Affiliation: This is basic demographic information we like to have on hand when we’re publishing poll results.

We have an extreme disgust for spam–we will never sell, lend, trade or otherwise give away your personal information to anyone. Ever.
