SwiftKids for Truth

Satire or attack ads?

Rated:

  • Currently 2/5 Stars.

23/6’s SwiftKids for Truth advertisements have been receiving mixed reviews, and the jury is still out regarding whether these are tongue-in-cheek satire or low-blow attack ads.

What do you think?

You can see all three here.

These ads are just to creepy to sit through. Are they the rights answer to the kid from MD advocating healthcare coverage from a couple months ago I wonder?

Wow. I really hope they’re tongue in cheek satire. Please let them be. Otherwise, they are too disturbing for words. Regardless, as tnichlsn says, they are just too creepy.

I think that they are satirical, and I think that they are funny as hell. My favorite is the John Edwards one about the $4000 manicure and the largest air conditioner in the world. My take on the “ads” is that they are satirical pokes at the handling of political candidates by the media; Sen. Clinton is not feminine enough or is too feminine, John Edwards spends too much on his haircuts, Sen. Obama has a name that is too difficult to pronounce, etc.

I think they’re satirical, or at least they better be. Its funny stuff, but I agree will AL that there’s got to be some idiots out there who just watch and nod and say “Ya’ll see, that there’s what’s wrong with America!”
